The collaboration arose spontaneously after an episode of Radio Pleasure Society by Shari Klein where Diana Lin from The Oh Collective was a guest. During the broadcast, a conversation about the existence of the word 'labia,' which deeply shocked Diana, ensued. This moment led The Oh Collective to contact Pleasure Society with a proposal to set up a joint campaign.
Pleasure Society then involved The Vulva Gallery—a project by Sam Hil Atalanta that has been advocating for inclusive and correct language use for years—in the project. What started as an unexpected twist in a radio show grew into an initiative that aims to change societal perceptions of the body.
The foundation – an initiative by activist entrepreneur Sebastian Kersten – is engaged in projects aimed at creating a level playing field for everyone through ethical technology, (sexual) education, and operational & strategic support, with a strong emphasis on feminist and queer entrepreneurship.
